Mann Eye Clinic

 

Certified Gold - LEED for Core and Shell (2010-2011)

The Mann Eye Institute is one of the premiere eye care facilities in the United States, boasting several clinics in multiple locations. This 35,000 square foot building located in Houston, Texas was commissioned by GreeNexus assisting in achieving its LEED for Core and Shell rating.

First Texas project registered under the Living Building Challenge.

The highly innovative Monarch School in Houston, Texas, is one of the greenest schools in the nation. Providing therapeutic education for children with neurological differences, the school's three buildings combine environmentally responsive objectives with sensitive design that supports health for students, faculty, and its natural surroundings. Continually seeking advancement, The Monarch School built a Net-Zero Energy Studio Classroom under the built environment's most rigorous performance standard, the Living Building Challenge.

Certified Gold - LEED for Commercial Interiors v3 (2013)

Determined to make its new office a sustainable space from project inception, Ziegler Cooper Architects created its 25,000­-square-foot tenant build-out in Houston, Texas’ LEED-EB certified 700 Louisiana Building. GreeNexus provided LEED consulting and LEED project management and documentation. Set in the heart of downtown, the vibrant space offers employees extensive daylight and views marked by beautiful cathedral-like shapes that accentuate daylight colors and provide visual interest through changing seasons. In the team work area, new furnishings contribute to the sense of open collaboration in this low-VOC-emitting environment. Smart daylighting strategies reduce energy loads by 32% and efficient appliances further contribute to energy savings.

Certified - LEED for New Construction v2009 (2015)

Eldridge Oaks is a Class A, LEED Gold, 14-story office that includes 350,000 SF of leaseable office space. The cast-in-place, post-tension construction is clad in an innovative architectural precast and glass curtain wall system. It also includes a seven level, 430,000SF parking garage with an outdoor space.

GreeNexus provided full-service LEED consulting and enhanced commissioning for a new 21-story building, 290-unit apartment home in Houston, Texas. Amenities include entry lobby and concierge, leasing offices, fitness center, library, business center, club room, demonstration kitchen, private dining area, game room, film room, and restrooms.

A fully landscaped roof terrace provides a pool, spa, barbecue pavilion, fireplaces, seating areas, lawn, and community gardens. A ground level pocket park is included.

Memorial Hermann Hospital - Heart and Vascular Institute

 

Commissioning

Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute is the first freestanding heart and vascular hospital in the Texas Medical Center. The 230,000 square foot facility houses 147 patient beds, including a 20-bed short stay unit, CVICU care unit, and six cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs, as well as access to 11 VIP suites with hotel services and library area.

BBVA Compass - 5 Branch Banks

 

Certified Gold - LEED for New Construction Retail

(2010 - 2011)

BBVA Compas took a market leadership role in the construction of several new branch banks in Texas using a replicable design. The branches include solar panels, daylighting, and green, low-VOC interiors. The variable refrigerant volume system on some branches, long with efficent lighting and controls help to reduce energy demand. In addition, a community area for customers creates a welcoming environment. The project scope included consulting, as well as fundamental and enhanced commissioning.

Certified Platinum - LEED for Commercial Interiors (2012)

At PDR, they believe in creating spaces that make people thrive. Therefore, it was only logical, when relocating, they sought to incorporate sustainable design principles. Going above and beyond simple design strategies, PDR’s 14,704 square foot office space achieved a LEED for Commercial Interior Platinum certification with assistance from JB Mallay for enhanced commissioning services.

Certified Gold – LEED for Commercial Interiors v3 (2014)

Situated in Houston, Texas’ 1800 West Loop South (a LEED-EB certified core and shell), the open layout in Quanex Building Products’ 25,000­-square-foot corporate headquarters promotes a collaborative work environment. The new tenant space incorporates daylight and views combined with a comprehensive lighting system and user controls. New plumbing fixtures reduced water usage by more than 40% for the entire floor.

Certified Gold – LEED for Commercial Interiors (2015)

Receiving LEED-Gold Commercial Interiors certification for its North American and Brazilian headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas, Repsol built out 200,000 square feet of Class A offices. Employees enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining spaces and a lake-front dock area as well as a fitness center. The layout capitalizes on the lake views for employees, and glass fronted perimeter offices provide transparency and allow daylight to infiltrate the open-plan office area.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

 

Certified Gold - LEED for Commercial Interiors (2017)

BNY Mellon is a highly ranked global investment firm that helps clients to manage financial assets.  This 5,000 square foot project in Houston, Texas enlisted GreeNexus as LEED project administrators to pursue its goal of advanced resource management.  In addition to financial asset management, BNY Mellon promotes environmental asset management through LEED certification.  This project successfully produced a water use reduction of 42% and implemented 100% daylight responsive controls.

Baylor College of Medicine - Alkek Research Tower

 

100,000 square feet of laboratory research space. The building's eight stories will include flexible laboratory and office space for major new interdisciplinary program initiatives identified in the College's strategic plan.

Pioneer Natural Resources Corporate Offices

 

Certified - LEED for New Construction v2009

Pioneer Natural Resources’ new six-story, 272,000 square-foot office building in Midland, Texas was designed for LEED certification and the company occupies 41,600 square feet of that space. The building places an emphasis on employee satisfaction with a large dining hall, a 50-person conferencing center and training room, and a state-of-the-art fitness center with locker rooms. Green building highlights include recycled and regional materials, sustainable water use practices and a high-performance envelope.

Greenway Plaza consists of 4.3 million square feet of office buildings that targeted LEED for Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance certification. Commissioning for the facility was conducted in 2010 and 2011 with multiple buildings achieving Silver or Gold Certification.

Eastern Regional Park - Phase II

 

Certified Silver - LEED for New Construction (2013)

Texas' first LEED project in League city, this new 26,400 square-foot recreation center sports an aggressive program with two full gymnasiums, a multipurpose room, locker rooms, meeting and administration space, and support functions. Exterior amenities include a parking area, soccer fields, pool, and other site amenities in the surrounding park. Project partners brought Amanda Tullos and Green Building Services on board to provide consulting and commissioning services to achieve LEED for New Construction Silver Certification. The facility includes a variable refrigerant volume HVAC system and a rainwater harvesting system with a prominent above-ground tank that serves for educational purposes. Erosion measures carefully preserve the coastal prairie atmosphere and native plantings and bioswales treat stormwater runoff.

Research Forest Lakeside - Buildings 4 and 5

 

2 Buildings Certified Gold - LEED Core and Shell Precertified (2014 - 2015)

Both of these office buildings in the Woodlands, Texas were designed to enhance a connection to nature and offer views on Lake Woodlands. Significant efforts were made to prevent erosion to the lake and reduce water use. The two buildings capture facility condensate and stormwater for reuse in irrigation. An oversized storm system stores the water for reuse and allows particulates to settle out. Both buildings' long facades are oriented south so the highest solar heat gain reaches only the short east and west ends of each building. Each facade utilizes different transparent and reflective low-e, high-performance, and insulated glass depending on its orientation. GreeNexus provided consulting and enhanced commissioning assistance, with the facilities targeting energy reduction, water reduction, and access to local amenties.

Kingsland Medical Office Building

 

2 Buildings Certified Gold - LEED Core and Shell (2015 - 2018)

Outstanding water use measures and innovative wastewater solutions were the focus of these medical office buildings located in Katy, Texas. A strong team commitment and careful design led to water efficient landscaping and grey water reuse for flushing toilets and urinals that allowed for over 43% total water reduction and over 100% potable water reduction for sewage conveyance in both projects. These projects also included green roofs and aggressive storm water retention measures.

West U Baptist Church - Youth Ministry Building

GreeNexus assisted Tracy Design Studio and Mission Constructors in the certification of this project located in West University Place, Texas. This 7,456SF project was designed to serve the youth of West University Baptist Church and provide them a safe place to gather. Boasting a 51% reduction in potable water use, the project also utilized the use of recycled and regional materials to asset in achieving their certification.

Texas Tech - Student Wellness Center

 

This 44,000 square foot center is located near the intersection of Main Street and Flint Avenue west of the Carpenter/Wells Residence Hall. The facility includes a one-stop wellness resource for students, and combines the services of the Student Health Center and the Student Counseling Center.
